Why?

Why should I write a poem?

Jab man mein ho na koi tarang

And the wheel of life spins

Casting a multitude of totems

Of the numerous concepts formed each day,

And washed away like a sand castle.

I sit by the shore,

And gaze at the ramnants

Of my many tiny hopes

And mark the meaninglessness, of the words I swore

Tao mon bole abar phire chal

Cuz if you have loved once,

You can sing the same old songs.

Chahe dil toota hi sahi

Yet pay heed to the heart that longs

Of the by-gone days

Whose vibes runs though your veins.

Why should I write a poem?

When my tunes may get lost

Into the ocean of voices so vast

No price really paid for the exhaust

Of the memoirs put across the wall

Kono ek meghe dhaka shokal

Reminds me there arn't just darker shades

That could be captured

The incessantly blissful,gleaming eyes

Tales of joy that is nurtured

Of my starry eyed four legged princess,

Joy walks around me, its an instance.

Why should I write a poem?

When I dont often sing the hymns

And often get caught in the realm

Though interesting it may seem

Of the mundane chores

That sometimes agonizes my soul

Amar jhilmile shonar din guli,

Failure to realise so would be so silly

Happiness has donned a new shift

Coffees and conversations are the things

Of the many memories we together paint,

A different flavour though, love hasn't gone taint.

Kehte hain, guzarta waqt lautke phir nahi aata

Tao keno shudhu purnono sriti ke aakriye rakha?

There is poetry this very insignificant event,

Open the eyes of your heart, you may just miss the second.
